Since our founding in 2013, Blues for Veterans Association has been proud to have donated nearly $100,000 to programs that support our veteran community. It is labor of love that it is supported by the continuing support of our followers who share our love for blues music. Here are some of the programs that we have supported through the years! For more information or to donate to any of these programs, please click on the picture to be taken to their website. Thank you for your support!

The Service Dog Project Inc. is a non-profit, charity organization committed to breeding, training, and donating certified service dogs to people who experience difficulty with their balance or mobility.  Our mission is to create a partnership that enhances a recipient’s quality of life as they attain greater independence.  Preference is given to military veterans, their immediate families and first responders. In creating the partnership between Great Dane and recipient, SDP is dedicated to the values of respect, integrity, inclusion, compassion, collaboration, equality, and courage.  These principles endure within the organization and in its insistence on the value of diversity, in its strive to provide excellence to those in need, and in its dynamic engagement with the community.

Our mental health programs include vocational services, peer services, homeless services, and outpatient mental health services. Our mental health service line is a nationally recognized leader in psychosocial rehabilitation, research, and education.
VA Bedford Healthcare System is part of the VA New England Healthcare System (VISN 1), which includes medical centers and clinics in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Rhode Island.

Lizbeth Clinton Granfield is a Veteran, a Teacher and a Mother of two, beating the odds by living at home with Huntington’s Disease. Due to the high cost of home care we accept donations to help pay for our Caregivers.
Liz needs 24/7/365 care. A donation of twenty five dollar pays for one hour of car, two hundred pays for an eight hour day. Liz is a two person assist so a donation in any amount large or small goes a long way.
Feel free to be in touch with us about other ways to help, but if you can afford to give please give generously.
Thank you so much
The Hugs for Lizbeth team!

William Shuttleworth, 71, of Newburyport, Massachusetts walked across the country for over three months.
Shuttleworth left Massachusetts on May 15 and arrived at his last stop in San Diego on Sunday.
An Air Force veteran himself, Shuttleworth said he wanted to raise awareness for veteran’s issues like suicide, healthcare and homelessness.
“To know that you can still do this at my age of 71 and do this for veterans… It’s pretty emotional,” Shuttleworth said. “It’s pretty honoring to be able to do this.”
His journey took him 3,600 miles or 10 million steps across the country. He said he wore out five pairs of shoes along the way.
